The standard cancellation policy unless otherwise stated is as follows:

- 100% refund for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.

- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start date of the experience will receive no refund.

All the payments on the platform are made with your credit or debit card.

Yes, our online payment system is secure. The booking process and payment is done through one of the two Swiss booking engine and payment solutions we are working with.

Yes, everyone has to pay taxes. All earnings made as a host on Nearby need to be declared by the host in their own country.

Nearby is a local marketplace advertising experiences provided by passionate people around the world. While being a host at Nearby you work on a freelance base and there is no employment agreement between the two parties.

At Nearby Experiences we believe everyone should be able to make an extra income in light of the current global situation.

Nearby was created during the Coronavirus pandemic. We have asked our hosts to limit their experiences to a maximum of 3 people or apply local laws. Masks should be used wherever possible.

Nearby offers unique local experiences via local hosts and businesses. Usage of the platform must be in line with the code of conduct for both hosts and users:

1. To respect the local host and user

2. To not behave in an offensive, aggressive, threatening, harassing, racist or xenophobic nature, or with sexual connotations, inciting violence, discrimination or hatred towards their local host, user and other people.

3. Hosts and clients are not to try to bypass the online booking system of the platform and arrange an experience without booking it on the platform.

4. Nearby host and clients shoud not contact each other for a purpose other than:
- Arranging details of the booking for a Nearby experience
- Arranging details of the meeting with the host / client
- Asking for local tips & advice


5. To respect local customs and rules & regulations

6. Both hosts and clients should respect social distancing and local applicable safety norms

Only certified official local guides are able to do guided walks on Nearby. Also, Nearby does not work with "free walk tours" as most of these walks are run by people with no qualifications or legal permits.

At Nearby Experiences, we believe everyone should be able to earn an extra income doing what they do best: meeting people over a cup of coffee, taking a short walk around your neighbourhood, discovering a destination with local people, learning to play the piano, preparing for that job interview or simply talking about your favourite hobby, movie, restaurants, culture, storytelling…The key is to try to be as create as possible. The possibilities are endless!
