Walk around Funchal with a local official certified guide and ask Eva anything about Funchal, herself and the island she calls home since 1972. The walking experience starts by the Parque Santa Catarina and a tour of the park itself, with its wealth of interesting plants. We’ll then head to the viewpoint which overlooks the whole of Funchal bay and the port. From here, we’ll pass by the statue of Henry The Navigator, then the Municipal Gardens and, some 200 metres further on, the Cathedral. Next, it’s the Largo do Município (Municipal Square), the town hall, the Sacred Art Museum and the Colégio Church, before we move on to the local market hall, famous for its flowers, fruit, vegetables and fish. The walk ends by the cable car on Rua da Santa Maria.
